Lyme Bay Winery

Lyme Bay Winery

Who we are:

Proudly off the beaten path.’

We're a bit different down here at Lyme Bay: we take our time to do things, we're more for sea shanties than smartphones, and we hands down refuse to take ourselves too seriously.

It’s this kind of attitude that has helped us develop some of the country's boldest drinks creations. From hopped cider to Devon's first spiced rum, our entire range of multi award-winning fruit wines, English wines, ciders, meads, liqueurs and spirits is driven by a passion for the exceptional.

And actually we're quite happy to separate ourselves from the crowd if it means joining a long tradition of extraordinary Lyme Bay folk like Jack Rattenbury, a notorious, local smuggler dubbed the “Rob Roy of the West”; and Mary Anning, a penniless, local lass struck by lightning as a child, who went on to discover some of the greatest fossils known to man. These are our kind of people.

So, yes, you might have to venture off the beaten path to discover us but – just like all the best things in life – we're worth finding.

Where we are:

Our state-of-the-art winery is nestled in Devon's beautiful Axe Valley , in the heart of the Lyme Bay, which stretches from Portland in Dorest to Brixham in South Devon and includes the full 96 miles of the Jurrassic Coast; a World Heritage site.

When we were:

Everything started in 1993 with a few apples, a farm and a dream to make outstanding cider. Now, 25 years later, we produce nearly a quarter of a million litres of cider a year and have over 150 products stamped with a Lyme Bay seal of approval!
